Pervasive.SQL 2000i Service Pack 4

NetWare 6.0 ships with Pervasive.SQL 2000i (SP3 level) preinstalled as part of the base NetWare install.

If you are applying SP4 to this deployment, the install of SP4 may fail.

If SP4 fails on the install, you will need to Add the following lines to the SYS:\SYSTEM\BTI.CFG file, substituting for "i" your drive letter that is mapped to the NetWare server's SYS:\ volume:

[InstallInfo]
InstallDir=i:\pvsw
SystemDir=i:\system
VersionLevel=7.90
PatchLevel=3
BuildLevel=230

If the Service Pack 4 install does not find these settings it will not recognize that SP3 is installed on the system and fail.

Please note that NetWare 6 preconfigures Pervasive.SQL 2000i with very minimal resources. These settings are much lower in some cases than the recommended default settings from Pervasive. We highly recommend that you review all the settings and adjust them based on the expected usage of your applications. In particular the Microkernel cache size should be reset to at least 20% of your total physical memory. If you do not change this setting you can experience NetWare CPU hog timeouts.
